Brikener Jean-Gilles

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Brikener Jean-Gilles was raised in Brooklyn, New York for the better part of his childhood. An innate desire to help others caused him to attend Ministry School at age 12, where he began giving public talks to an audience of congregation members. In 1998, he graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, majoring in Media Communications. In the fall of 1999 he enrolled in Stony Brook University. He received a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature with a concentration in Media Communications in 2003.

A social scientist by default, he formed the Association for the Social Advancement of People (ASAP) Non-profit Incorporated in 2005, where currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer and sees it as his life’s mission to teach financial literacy and social responsibility to youth in financially underprivileged areas. Since then, Brikener has developed programs such as the Youth Financial Empowerment program for Mayor Bloomberg’s Center for Economic Opportunity and the College 101 program that helps minority males graduate from high-school and finance a college education.

As a community activist and community organizer, Brikener's organizing abilities and media communication knowledge and skills can only enhance the promotion of the LEOSU -DC as it sets out on its course to organize law enforcement & security police professionals in Washington DC Capitol Region
