Catholic University Police Officers / Bargaining Committee members met over the weekend to discuss our bargaining proposals. Some of the major issues which we will be addressing once we are back at the bargaining are the elimination of the 8 week rotation system, the physical training standards which are scheduled for March, but have not been enforced in years, wage increases amounting to at least a $1.00 or more an hour, retroactive pay going back to May of 2018 based on the their previous unions (SPFPA's) failure to negotiate a contract after its expiration, wage adjustments for senior officers, the lack of transportation vehicles, holiday pay and many language issues that pertain to their safety and working conditions.
General Counsel Grant Lally from the law firm of Lally & Misir, LLP will be the lead negotiator along with LEOSU-DC Organizing Director Steve Maritas. Presently the LEOSU-DC was successful in negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement on behalf of the sworn police officers working @ Georgetown University. This unit to was previously represented by the SPFPA who lost the unit to LEOSU-DC in a NLRB secret ballot election back in April of 2018.
