Virginia - The Law Enforcement Officers Security Unions, LEOSU-DC is happy to report that it has officially sponsored The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Stafford County Branch NAACP Youth Council 5th Annual Richmond, Virginia Capitol Tour. See official letter here.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is a non-profit organization ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. One of the beliefs of the Stafford County Branch NAACP is that the strength of our community is reflected through sharing resources and building alliances. Our branch continues to serve the community by holding public events on topics, such as history, education, and health care and partnering with local organizations and businesses on community-wide events.

On Monday, President’s Day, February 17, 2020, the Stafford County Branch NAACP Youth Council hosts its 5th Annual Richmond, Virginia Capitol Tour. The objective is to give students a basic understanding of how Virginia’s government system operates, learn about Virginia’s rich history and contributions to the United States of America. Many Stafford elected State Representatives will be present to host the tour and the trip will consist of touring the Governor’s Mansion, Campus, and Capitol Building, along with a brief history lesson about Virginia, and lunch will be included. Following lunch, the students will participate in a mock session on how a bill is introduced and then debate and vote it into law.

We would be grateful if you help continue the tradition and support the 2020 Richmond Capitol Tour by making a donation in any amount to curtail travel and meal expenses; all funds will be used for the Richmond Capitol Tour Trip. If you would like to make a donation, please send a check made payable to the Stafford County Branch NAACP and mail to P.O. Box 160, Stafford, Virginia 22555. Our Tax ID number is 91-2083103.

We thank you in advance for supporting the Stafford County Branch NAACP Youth Council. Should you have any questions please contact Richmond Capitol Trip Chairman, Milton Bratton, telephone number 540-446-4956 or e-mail miltonebratton@yahoo.com.

Sincerely yours, Milton E. Bratton, Chairman Richmond Capitol Trip Stafford County Branch NAACP
